Vorum: Grim death awaits
02/01/12 || cadenz
Released in 2009, this debut EP of Finnish death metal outfit Vorum contains eight tracks of no-nonsense old school death worship. The song lengths are appropriately short for these brutal outbursts of pure aggression. A primitive urge to kill permeates the riffs, a vital energy that drives the momentum ever forward. A little streamlining of the riffs and arrangements would make them pop out even more though, as sometimes it feels like the riffs change a bit too fast and too much information has been compressed into a limited time frame. With some more imaginative arrangements these youngsters will be able to swing their dicks on the throne of Finnish Death Metal in the near future. “Grim Death Awaits”, indeed.
7,5/10: You like no frills death metal? Good. Then you know what to do.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
